Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the second round.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
